Journey to the code of life: what makes me interested in genetics
Ever since I've been introduced to the topics related to DNA, I've been fascinated by how such a microscopic thing could have everything needed for life on this planet. The idea that all living things carry a code- written not in words, but in molecules- absolutely blew my mind. It was like learning that life itself is a kind of story, written in four simple letters: A, T, G, C. The more I read, the more curious I became. I read about scientists who dedicated their lives to cracking this code and about the amazing ways genetics is being used today to improve lives. Somewhere along the way, I realized this wasn't just a subject in my textbook- it was my dream path.
That's when I decided: I want to become a genetic engineer. One day, I hope to contribute to science in a way that might help cure diseases, improve health, or maybe even discover something that changes the way we understand life itself. But every dream begins with a first step- and this blog is one of mine.
Now that you know why I'm here, let's talk about what you can expect if you stick around. I don't want this blog to sound like a heavy science journal that puts you to sleep. My goal is to make genetics exciting and easy to understand, even if you don't have a science background.
I plan to share simple, beginner-friendly posts about key genetics concepts( like DNA, genes, CRISPR, and more), my own journey as a student exploring this field--as many bloggers I've come across are great researchers- I want to share everything I will be learning in this field, as I can make it sound less boring with no Jorgan overloaded. Think of this blog as both a journal and a guide- part personal, part scientific, and hopefully a little inspiring.
Starting this blog is like opening a door to my world, and I'd love for you to walk through it. I don't claim to know everything( in fact, I'm only at the beginning of my scientific journey), but that's the beauty of it- we get to learn and grow together.
So, whether you're someone who loves science, a fellow student struggling with biology, or just a curious soul who stumbled in, welcome. I hope you'll find something here that makes you stop and think, "Wow, life really is amazing."
This is only the first step of a long journey, and I'm so excited to see where it leads. For me, writing these words feels like planting a tiny seed- one that I hope will grow into a strong tree of ideas, knowledge, and conversations.
Thank you for being here at the very beginning. Here's to exploring the code of life together. 🌱
